Applications are invited for the position of Research Project Manager in the UCD APEP School, Spatial Dynamics Lab. This role will support a wide portfolio of Horizon Europe and H2020 projects run in the UCD Spatial Dynamics Lab with particular focus of 2 Horizon Europe projects under the direction of Prof Francesco Pilla and Assistant Prof Aura Istrate, who are the Project Coordinators.

REALLOCATE (Rethinking the design of streets and public spaces to leverage the modal shift to climate-friendly active transport everywhere) is a Horizon Europe Innovation action which will pave the way towards climate-neutral, safe, inclusive, and smart European cities through integrated and innovative sustainable urban mobility solutions that will address the needs of diverse groups and communities, while rebalancing street space allocation.

C-NEWTRAL (smart CompreheNsive training to mainstrEam neW approaches for climaTe-neutRal cities through citizen engAgement and decision-making support for innovative governance and integrated pLanning) is a Horizon Europe MARIE SKLODOWSKA-CURIE ACTION Doctoral Network (MSCA-DN) which provides high-level training to 10 high-achieving doctoral candidates (DCs), based across 6 European countries. C-NEWTRAL is underpinned by five key thematics (Urban Nature, Urban Mobility, Built Form, Energy, Circularity), which are integrated through two cross scale research dimensions: I. Citizen Engagement & Public Participation and II. City Governance & Decision-Making. This European Doctoral Network blends interdisciplinary research, non-academic secondments, and advanced training workshops to prepare the DCs for careers in climate-neutral city research within academia and industry.

The appointee to this post will support the UCD Coordinators and will provide administrative support to research activities and strategic planning initiatives. The project manager will support the timely preparation of supports to the European Commission; liaise with the Research offices of the beneficiary institutions and coordinate training workshops and outreach activities. The Project manager will also monitor progress of individual research projects, particularly delays that impact on other projects and will update the supervisory boards on progress. The successful candidate will contribute to research outreach and research project support, maintain the action webpage and support its communication activities.

The role of the Research Project Manager offers a suitable candidate the opportunity to work in a European research-industry collaborative project, both internally with UCD researchers and externally with consortium partners, European Commission (as a funding agency) and industry companies, in relation to external engagement and reporting, as required.

* Salary Range: 55,000 - 60,000 per annum.

Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
