Job Summary

The faculty member teaches Business Supervision and Management courses within the Bachelor's program. This is a full-time Faculty (FAC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
  • Evaluates students and performs career and academic advising
  • Plans and organizes instructional materials to meet course objectives
  • Develops and teaches online courses
  • Teaches Dual Enrollment classes
  • Recruits, advises and evaluates students
  • Prepares and writes grants for the School of Engineering and Technology
  • Teaches information systems technology courses college wide
  • Participates in a variety of departmental, campus and college-wide programs, activities and committees
  • Serves as a resource person for adjunct faculty
  • Teaches day, evening and weekend classes as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Doctorate in Business Administration, Human Resources, Management, Organizational Behavior or Supervision & Administration; or Master's degree in Business Administration or Management; or Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in one or any combination of the following fields: Human Resources, Management, Organizaitonal Behavior or Supervision & Administration.
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Familiarity with and use of collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instructionFlexibility to teach off site with industry partners
  • Abilty to work mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Ability to provide both theoretical and hands on instruction in the classroom
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to work well in a multi-ethic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, staff and the community
  • Must be able to function well in a technological environment
  • Start date for this Faculty position is scheduled on or before August 17, 2023
  • Doctoral stipend awarded in addition to base salary, as applicable
Preferences
  • Ph.D. in field preferred
  • Two (2) years related industrial experience a plus
  • Two (2) years college teaching experience desirable
  • Previous curriculum development and recruitment experience a plus
