ASSISTANT PROFESSOR – PUBLIC RELATIONS/STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION
Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) is currently seeking candidates for a full time (10 months) Public Relations/Strategic Communication tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Communication Department starting August 1, 2023 in Joplin, Missouri.
The Communication Department is currently comprised of six full-time faculty members. Tenure-track faculty at MSSU are evaluated based on the three measurements of teaching, service, and research. Successful candidates should be prepared to teach Introduction to Public Relations, Writing for PR, and other related courses as needed by the department. Service includes student advising and campus committee service.
The position requires a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and advising at the undergraduate level. A Ph.D. in Communication or a related field is preferred; however, candidates who are ABD or who have a completed MA in Communication/Public Relations will be considered for a Master Instructor position (10 months, nontenure).
