Position Description POSITION: Coordinator of Transfer & Online RecruitmentLOCATION: Admissions OfficeREPORTS TO: Executive Director of Admissions & Enrollment Services SUMMARY: Make a difference in a student's life by giving them the information and service they need to decide SMC is the right place for them to further their education. Represent the college both on and off-campus to prospective students and recruit academically qualified students to SMC in an energetic, effective manner. The Coordinator will discover the needs and concerns of prospects, demonstrate how our programs can best meet those needs, and support the prospective students through the enrollment process. Supports and works to enhance the professional and efficient operations, through coordination by the Director of Admissions. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide detailed information about the admission process, overall details about procedures and policies, services offered by the college, and available programs for students who are seeking financial assistance.
  • Assist in calling on corporate education officers and human resource directors.
  • Attend recruiting opportunities deemed appropriate by the Director of Admissions.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves customer service issues arising during the enrollment process.
  • Maintains overall applicant/student pipeline with high attention to detail.
  • Consistently performs to meet monthly performance expectations and team goals.
  • Maintains a positive working attitude, supports team culture, and provides help to other team members as needed.
  • Take an active role in marketing/advertising campaigns.
Recruiting Duties
  • Plan and implement recruitment activities.
  • Manage all new inquiries by using a combination of outbound calling efforts and email communication and maintain a daily outbound call volume as set by the Director of Admissions. Must be comfortable with extensive customer outreach and post-inquiry follow-up by phone.
  • Communicate effectively and continuously with prospective students/applicants to keep them involved through the final stages of the enrollment process until they successfully enroll.
  • Answer applicant questions and addresses concerns and issues to prepare them to be successful students within the SMC Online learning environment.
  • Utilize online communication via email and/or other technology-based communication media.
  • Read, interpret, and evaluate prospective students' academic credentials and application materials to determine the potential for academic achievement and success at SMC.
Record Keeping
  • Become familiar and effectively navigate Admissions CRM.
  • Facilitate daily business including appointments, meetings, ongoing maintenance of applicants’ files.
  • Track transcripts, trace missing documents and handle records accurately and efficiently.
Other Skills/Abilities
  • Prior sales and customer service experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Bilingual (preferred, but not required)
  • Results-oriented and motivated by fast-paced environments.
  • Proven track record for meeting recruiting goals/objectives.
  • Self-motivated and driven to exceed college enrollment goals.
