Description ResponsibilitiesThe Data Analyst reports to the Assistant Vice President for Student Development Coordinates programs research and evaluation component; maintain program records; ensure consistent and efficient data collection and management; prepare research data materials and reports; collaborate with the division of institutional effectiveness; conduct presentations of research data to project staff, institutional leaders; assist in editing program publications; log and monitor student assessment data; conduct longitudinal tracking; update program databases; develop and administer surveys and questionnaires; The Data Analyst coordinates and supports other phases of the project, collaborates continuously with key offices on campus to collect, manage, and analyze data. Must comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) as well as with all university procedures and policies. Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Qualifications QualificationsMinimum: The candidate must have an advanced degree and at least three years of quantitative research and data analytics experience, specifically conducting quasi-experiment and/or true test designs. Data analysts must be familiar with programming languages such as R and SAS for data gathering, data cleaning, statistical analysis, and data visualization. The incumbent must have experience willingness to learn Microsoft Office, Jenzabar and related Enterprise Resources Programs (ERPs) is required. Must demonstrate a high level of competence in how to interpret data analytics. Ability to provide direction and guidance, build a trusting relationship, work independently and with colleagues in a team effort, maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the needs of diverse populations, work in a fast-paced environment, respond well under pressure, and adapt to change required. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous work assignments, and exercise sound judgement required. Must possess exceptional listening, organizational, problem-solving, decision making, creativity, oral and written communication, and interpersonal relation skills. Must be able to develop and maintain databases and reports and use appropriate and accessible technologies to diversify delivery methods of data analytics and outcomes.
