Governors State University invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the College of Business.

 

Located 30 miles south of Chicago in University Park, Governors State strives to provide an exceptional and accessible education. The dean will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of quality in the College’s academic programs, while also identifying strategies to improve student success. They will maintain the highest standards of ethics, transparency, and integrity as a representative of the College and the University. The dean will play an active role in enrollment strategy to ensure the long-term sustainability of the College; will be dedicated to advancing a culture that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive; and will be pivotal in recruiting, developing, and retaining colleagues who are essential to ensuring student success. The dean will work collaboratively with the marketing and communications teams to build the College’s reputation and will be expected to seek new revenue sources through fundraising, corporate partnerships, and grant opportunities.

 

Successful candidates will possess:

  • A terminal degree in an area of instruction that is offered by GSU (required) Collegiate teaching experience and a track record of scholarship Knowledge of AACSB preparations and standards Additional desired competencies and experience in: Curricular revision and program development to foster academic rigor Working successfully with a business advisory board Faculty governance in collective bargaining contexts Excellent communication skills
