About UC Clermont

The Math, Computers, Geology & Physics Department at UC Clermont invites applicants for our Mathematics Adjunct faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed).

UC Clermont College provides student-centered undergraduate education in an open-access, regional college environment. We foster diversity as well as intellectual, cultural, and social development in our community. UC Clermont College has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students and is located in Batavia, Ohio, thirty miles east of the University of Cincinnati’s downtown campus. We offer a variety of Associates degrees, two-year technical degrees, and certificates and also prepare students for transition/transfer into baccalaureate degree programs. Job Overview

On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member’s primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to a diverse set of students.

Adjunct faculty must be able to teach mathematics courses ranging from the developmental (pre-college) level through calculus. Courses offered may include day, evening, or online meeting times. Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students; and (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year.

Essential Functions
  • On a part-time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses.
  • Using best practices, continually evaluate student coursework.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of their responsibilities.
  • Review and respond in a timely manner to all University-related and student communications.
Required Education

A Master’s Degree (or higher) in: Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field.

Required Experience

Previous teaching experience is required.

  • Knowledge of issues in math education and classroom technology.
  • Experience teaching in a college setting.
