The College invites applications from individuals interested in a transformational leadership opportunity as the Associate Vice President for College Advancement and Executive Director of KVCC Foundation. This position serves as Executive Director of and liaison, responsible for the management, operation of and strategic planning for the Marketing Department and the Kalamazoo Valley Foundation. This role has the primary responsibility to integrate College wide standards in the areas of marketing, communication and the management of the College brand.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Monitor investments and asset distribution and manage student scholarship accounts.
  • Plan, direct and evaluate the operational and financial activities of the Foundation including the solicitation and management of charitable donations for the College, Kalamazoo Valley Museum and affiliates as the 501c3 receipting organization for external and internal funding sources.
  • Prepare annual operating budget recommendations; develop, implement and monitor budgets.
  • Develop, implement and administer departmental operating policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative leadership, assist and direct Foundation Board activities, meetings and events.
  • Develop, direct and evaluate the community relations and marketing/promotion programs; develop, write and implement policies, goals and objectives for these programs.
  • Establish programs, practices and campaigns which promote the institution within the community and the state; maintain contact with state officials and media representatives; write or review/revise/approve draft written material (e.g. news releases, publicity pieces, advertising/promotion campaign documents), serve as an official spokesperson.
  • Plan, direct and evaluate the development and advancement activities for the College and the Museum.
  • Design and implement marketing campaigns, planned fund raising programs, campaigns and events, establish and maintain donor relationships.
  • Formulate, define and communicate fund raising goals, objectives and strategies; manage donor tracking system; develop, produce, distribute and evaluate donor education.
  • Assure compliance to all grant funding requirements, manage receipting and IRS compliance for non-cash gifts (gifts in kind) for the Institution.
  • Serves as the primary speech writer for the College.

  • Planning and coordinating a comprehensive fund raising/development function
  • Marketing and promotion activities.
  • Researching and analyzing data and reports.
  • Making oral and written presentations.

Minimum qualifications: A combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities. An example of this would be a master’s degree with six years of related experience and three years of supervisory experience.

Work hours: Core business hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Attending College and community special events will require evening and weekend hours.
