Organization
Serves as spokesperson and leads the public relations efforts of a college. Improves the name recognition and image of the college, primarily through the planning and coordination of its media relations and publications.

  1. Serves as liaison between the college, staff, faculty and members of the local, state and national media.
  2. Obtains exposure for the college in the media through personal contacts; communicates with the general public and the UH public in writing (publications) and orally (public speaking engagements).
  3. Plans and coordinates publications of the college, including newsletters, college web site, annual reports and brochures; supervises publications personnel in development and production of publications.
  4. Plans, coordinates and oversees the writing and distribution of news releases for the appropriate media.
  5. Arranges press conferences and media coverage of events.
  6. Develops and maintains intra-university working relations with the University departments of Media Relations, Publications and Development.
  7. Performs other job-related duties as required.

•    Strategize and analyze effective communication channels for college and community messaging.
•    Plan, coordinate, and oversee the development and production of college publications. 
•    Experience creating, implementing, and measuring a yearly Communications Strategy and Plan

•    Establish and maintain Intra-university working relationships.

Preferred Skills:
•    Project management software (e.g., Trello, Hive, Teams)
•    Event planning and execution 
•    Experience with Adobe Suite and social media management platforms 
•    Strong communication (written and verbal)



Description
Bachelors and 5 years experience

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
