Position Summary:Prairie State College seeks an experienced adjunct instructor to teach Adult Education/Adult Secondary math classes for Fall 2023 semester. Successful candidates will have the ability to address a variety of math concepts for adult learners. Fall Semester Session I runs from August 28, 2023–November 17, 2023. Session II runs from September 18, 2023–December 8, 2023. Classes meet Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Classes are offered on campus or online. Class assignments are based on enrollment, so the candidate needs to be able to teach both on campus or online, based on staffing needs.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Math or related fieldExperience teaching adult learnersAbility to use technology to enhance teaching and learningOnline teaching experienceExcellent writing and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:M.S. in Mathematics or related fieldExperience teaching in an Adult Education programICCB Standards Proficient Training credentialOnline teaching certification

Prairie State College is a richly diverse community college located 30 minutes south of Chicago.
