Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Digital Studios, the Digital Studio Coordinator is responsible for the management and maintenance of the Digital Design Studio and Digital Media Lab - two of the nine labs and studio run by Venture Lab, the University of Pennsylvania's student entrepreneurship hub.

The Digital Design Studio and Digital Media Lab operate as a traditional media studio that is responsible for the creation of all associated assets for the branding and marketing of more than two dozen co-curricular programs and initiatives aimed at the collective student and alumni population. Venture Lab is home to more than 3,000 unique student members that represent the university's entrepreneurship and innovation communities. The Digital Studio Coordinator will act as the liaison between Venture Lab (the organization) and students, staff, faculty, and alumni audiences to ideate, develop, edit, and produce digital and print assets.

The idea candidate for this position should have strong verbal and written skills in conjunction with a strong command of visual design. This position will spend 70% of the time supporting student and alumni ventures with the remaining 30$ supporting organization marketing needs. This position is full-time and located in Philadelphia on Penn's campus and must work on site at Tangen Hall five days per week except for Penn-designated holidays.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Planning and execution of creative assets for organizational and programmatic use
  • Collaborates with Comms. Coordinator to determine which assets are best suited for channel distribution to effective reach and engage student and alumni audiences
  • Ownership and expansion of the Venture Lab brand identity and elements, including periodic updates to the brand guidelines, creative assets, and other associated collateral.
  • Develop strategic content plan to ensure all assets are created and distributed in accordance with programmatic editorial calendar
  • Oversight of all studio operations including management and maintenance of equipment, studio reservations, and project assistance
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to student entrepreneurs on best content creation and distribution strategies for their ventures while leading workshops for student entrepreneurs focused on branding, design, and marketing.
  • Supervise student designers by providing editorial oversight of all student-focused marketing projects
  • Collaborate with Director of Marketing and Comms. Coordinator on long-term communication and marketing strategies

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, marketing or related field
    • 2-4 years of experience as a graphic designer, web designer, or related experience.
    • Proficiency with software such as InDesign, illustrator, Photoshop and Canva
    • A working knowledge of third-party design tools (knowledge of Blender, Adobe Aero, or After Effects a plus)
    • Understanding of marketing, web design, brand identity, and multimedia design
    • Creative approach to designing multimedia assets for external and internal marketing
    • Familiarity with computer equipment and building editing workstations
    • Familiarity with industry-level audio, photo, and video equipment
    • Ability to effectively manage project milestones and timeframes
    • Ability to create, implement and standardize workflow processes for content creation
    • Ability to lead and mentor a team of student workers and communicate with other staff and alumni audiences.
    • Working knowledge of marketing best practices and how to effective communicate to the target audience via visual designs

    Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
