JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, this position is responsible for the performance of multiple variables related to the planning, organization and coordination of all administrative areas of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency and Intern programs; the statistical reporting of all Emergency Room, Operating Room and outpatient patients seen by faculty and residents for accreditation reviews; and the contribution to the overall quality of education of the residents.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Coordinates and directs all administrative needs of nine current and one rotating resident, interns and four full-time and three volunteer faculty.Compiles and report accurate programmatic data for annual reports to American Dental Association and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.Compiles ongoing statistics for every five-year site visit accreditation review.Schedules yearly OMSITE exams for residents with compilation of statistics.Coordinates and maintain records of certification courses for residents and faculty.Manages administration of application, interview, and recruitment process for prospective resident's correspondence, scheduling interviews, meals, equipment setup.Directs all aspects of medical student and dental student externship program, including scheduling, setting up housing, and correspondence.Maintains database of documentation and statistics by of resident surgical cases in ED, OR and outpatient clinics for residents.Coordinates resident and faculty evaluations. Compiles monthly call schedules and didactic schedules and distribute to faculty and residents.Performs other related job duties as assigned.


Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

 

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

 

EXPERIENCE: One (1) years of office experience; OR Master’s Degree; OR a combination of related education and work experience to equal nine (9) years. (Experience in a medical education setting preferred).

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills and work as a team member relating effectively with students, faculty, residents, and various staff members.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and document and maintain strict confidentiality in all applicable matters.Ability to always use professionalism and discretion.Ability to effectively make brief, focused, and well-organized oral and written presentations.Ability to multi-task and shift priorities.Ability to initiate solutions to operational problems and implement operational changes.Ability to work and think independently, take initiative, and provide detail-oriented work.
 

WORK SCHEDULEThis position may be occasionally required to work evenings and weekends. May require occasional overnight travel.
