Job Details

The Highlights: The part-time Research Coordinator will conduct recruitment and qualitative interviews for a study of sexual assault survivors' experiences obtaining civil no contact orders. 


What You'll Do:

Attending regular meetings with the Principal Investigator for supervision and debriefing

Participating in IRB training and trainings on recruiting and interviewing sexual assault survivors

Recruiting potential research participants via phone and email and scheduling interviews

Traveling to conduct in person interviews, conducting informed consent and interviews in person and via zoom. In doing so, adhere to all IRB procedures including maintaining participant confidentiality and privacy, informed consent, and data storage

Sending interviews to be transcribed by a professional transcription company

Overseeing undergraduate research assistants in checking and de-identifying transcription procedures

Meeting with community partners regarding study design, procedures, recruitment, and interviewing

If time allows, conducting preliminary analyses of interview data

Percent times are estimates and may change depending on project needs.

Coordinator may help supervisor 1-5 undergraduate research assistants in de-identifying and checking transcripts. Coordinator will be responsible for setting times to meet with undergraduates and make decisions regarding checking transcriptions. Hiring decisions will be made by the PI.

 

What You'll Need:

 
  • Applicants must have completed their B.A. in psychology or a related discipline.
  • Periodically spend extended time standing, periodically lift more than 25 pounds
  • Must be reliable, task-oriented, self-motivated, with attention to detail
  • Must be capable of coordinating daily tasks, communicating effectively, and working as directed
  • Must possess strong writing skills

Note that this position is funded by a grant source.  If the grant terminates for any reason, or if the grant funding is lost or reduced for any reason, your employment with the university will be immediately discontinued. 

Some weekend and evening availability is expected.

Applicants with a master’s in psychology or a related discipline or applicant currently in a PhD program in psychology or a related discipline are preferred. Applicants with prior experience working with gender-based violence survivors are preferred. Bilingual interviewers are preferred, particularly interviewers who speak Spanish.
