The most applied-to four-year university in the nation, UCLA seeks a new chief enrollment officer who is committed to access and engaging qualified and accomplished students from California, the nation and the world to join the Bruin community.

Situated on 419 acres, five miles from the Pacific Ocean, UCLA is enriched by the cultural diversity of the dynamic greater Los Angeles area, as well as the geographic advantages of Southern California. UCLA is an international leader in breadth and quality of academic, research, health care, wellness, cultural, continuing education and athletic programs, with nearly 47,800 students taught by approximately 5,200 faculty members in the UCLA College and 12 professional schools. UCLA is consistently ranked among the top institutions nationally for research funding, having generated more than $1 billion in research grants and contracts annually in 11 of the last 14 years.

UCLA's diversity — which is exceptional among top public universities and unrivaled among its private peers — is one of the university's greatest strengths. Approximately 149,800 students applied for fall 2022 admission, with substantial increases among in-state first-year applicants and traditionally underrepresented populations, including African American, Latinx and Native American students. Building upon a remarkable record of success, the new chief enrollment officer will advance a best-in-class operation that is dynamic, innovative, responsive and nimble, fostering academic excellence and a diverse student population. Reporting to the executive vice chancellor and provost, the new chief enrollment officer will provide leadership, strategic direction and coordination for a comprehensive and aggressive enrollment effort that is consistent with the goals and mission of UCLA and the University of California. The new chief enrollment officer will provide visionary leadership to a team of more than 190 staff members in the offices of Undergraduate Admission, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Strategic Partnerships and Community Engagement, the Early Academic Outreach Program and BruinCorps, while also providing campus-wide coordination, leadership and accountability for enrollment management.

The new chief enrollment officer must be equipped to actively advance UCLA's goals for access and diversity; develop and harness existing and emerging technologies to communicate, build relationships and effectively and efficiently administer a highly complex operation across multiple departments; serve as a dynamic and compelling representative of and spokesperson on behalf of UCLA; navigate challenging topics and freighted issues with great finesse; serve as a national and global leader on admission, equity, affordability and access; and lead the constant posing of data-based questions that explore and expose the decisions the unit makes and how these decisions play out. The new chief enrollment officer must also be an outstanding leader and developer of people. This cannot be a laissez-faire operation: All its parts must both work at their highest level and work well with one another and across the university.

The target salary range for this position is between $137,800 and $362,200 annually.
