The College of Business (COB) has been AACSB accredited for over 40 years. We offer BSBA, MBA, and MSA degrees and our School of Hospitality Management offers both a BS in Hospitality Management and an MS in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality. Additionally, the Miller School of Entrepreneurship offers a BS in Entrepreneurship. We are one of the largest Colleges of Business in the state with approximately 4,200 undergraduate and 900 graduate students. To date, the COB has approximately 150 faculty members of the highest caliber, skilled in the scholarship of research, teaching, and application of knowledge. The Graduate Programs team is responsible for the administration of the College’s graduate degree and certificate programs within the College of Business. The College currently enrolls approximately 700 MBA and 75 MSA students in their programs.

Job Duties :

The Executive Director of Graduate Programs is an integral part of the Graduate Programs team and reports to the Assistant Dean for the Thomas D. Arthur Graduate School in the College of Business.

Job duties include the following:

10% Graduate Programs Leadership: In order to ensure high quality graduate programs and services are provided within the College of Business, the Executive Director interfaces with college deans, department chairs, and faculty to identify, develop and offer engaging curricula that meet evolving business needs. The director supervises two Assistant Directors, an administrative assistant and a varying number of graduate assistants.

5% Program Monitoring and Evaluations: The Executive Director proactively prepares, evaluates, and disseminates data pertaining to the graduate programs and their effectiveness. This includes preparation, statistical analysis, and interpretation of survey instruments. These reports are an essential aspect of program evaluation and continuous improvement.

15% Process Improvement: The Executive Director leads efforts to improve the efficiency of processes and operations in the Graduate Programs office. The Executive Director will interface with internal and external stakeholders affiliated with the Thomas D. Arthur Graduate School, including the advisory board, faculty teaching fellows, and regional business leaders.
10% Student Advising: The Executive Director is one of the contact people for advising and assisting with class scheduling for current and entering graduate business students. These duties include monitoring student progress towards graduation, keeping current students informed concerning program activities and requirements and general student contact, both face-to-face and electronic. The Executive Director investigates and seeks to resolve student concerns related to graduate programs. The Executive Director will supervise and conduct regular market reviews of competitor programs.

15% Student Recruitment and Retention: The Executive Director develops and executes student recruitment and retention activities, relationship management and support of current student population, and other activities as appropriate. Some travel is required. The Executive Director will administer and oversee signature programs within the Thomas D. Arthur Graduate School, including specific MBA cohorts and possible new certificate programs.
20% Event Planning: The Executive Director prepares and executes graduate programming events, such as the annual Welcome Event for new students, Leadership Conference, etc. The Executive Director identifies and investigates new and potentially impactful events for Graduate Programs. The Executive Director will coordinate and manage branding and advertising of the Thomas D. Arthur Graduate School.
10% Student Development: The Executive Director plans and executes student development programs and activities that are academic and/or co-curricular in nature.

10% Communications: The Executive Director takes a comprehensive approach to communicating with various stakeholders. This includes establishing and maintaining program contact and tracking of alumni.

5% Other duties as assigned: The normal work schedule for the position is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Some after-hours and weekend work is required. The Executive Director serves on College of Business and University committees as appropriate. Some evenings and weekend duties and responsibilities accompany this position as directed by the Assistant Dean for the Thomas D. Arthur Graduate School.

Minimum Education/Experience :

The candidate must possess a graduate degree (MBA, MA, MS, PhD, or EdD) from an appropriately accredited institution and demonstrate effective spoken and written communication skills. The candidate must have demonstrated experience successfully executing priorities independently. Experience in administering AACSB-accredited graduate programs is required. Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced business environment is essential.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :

The ideal candidate will have experience with Banner, ApplicationXtender, SharePoint, Qualtrics, Ellucian Recruiter, and Microsoft Excel. Experience with student advising and relationship management at the college or university level is strongly preferred. Technological competency is also preferred.
