Job Description:

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies at the University of Florida invites applications for a one-year Visiting Lecturer position in Spanish language and culture beginning August 16, 2023. This is a nine-month, time-limited, non-tenure-accruing position.

Responsibilities of the position are to teach three undergraduate courses in the area of Spanish language and culture per semester, plus potentially coordinating one lower division Spanish course.

Expected Salary:

The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:
The minimum qualifications for the position are: a Ph.D. in Spanish or closely related field (an MA will be accepted in conjunction with other exceptional qualifications); native or native-like fluency in English and Spanish; demonstrated excellence as a teacher; experience teaching college-level Spanish; and a strong commitment to working with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include expertise in Spanish for specific purposes and coordination experience
