STANDARD HOURS: 40 hours per week. Typical hours Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Flexibility required to include other evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary.

SALARY RANGE: $78,936 - $87,707 per year

*Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide individual counseling and psycho-educational programming to students district wide to promote optimum mental and emotional health. Complete assessments for Disability Services and provide documentation of diagnoses. Maintain detailed clinical records in compliance with state law and professional ethics. Collaborate with internal and external resources as appropriate.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

    Identify new developments and best practices in counseling by meeting continuing education requirements and maintaining Licensed Professional Counselor licensure by abiding by ACA ethical standards.
  • Manage student counseling needs district wide by providing individual or group treatment, conducting risk assessments and risk management, collaborating with Disability Services, responding to referrals, and referring out to community resources or specialists as needed. Provide insight and feedback in clinical team meetings and clinical supervision to maintain consistent and quality services to faculty, staff and students.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the counseling program on students' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
  • Gather information about available community mental health resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy.
  • Integrate technology creatively to reach more students (i.e., Telecounseling) and to work more efficiently.
  • Provide consultation to faculty and staff relating to student concerns, while maintaining client confidentiality in an environment where referral sources and clients are in close proximity.
  • Advocate for students in coordination of services and assist in resolving emergency problems in crisis situations. Conduct risk assessments of students with lethality concerns.
  • Maintain up-to date professional student records in accordance with ethical and legal standards, accommodations standards, and College policy.
  • Plan and implement outreach events to raise awareness and provide education on mental health issues.
  • Participate on committees to support College initiatives.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Master's Degree
Experience: Two years related experience with one-year experience counseling adults is preferred.

**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.

Certificates & Licenses

Licensed in the State of Wisconsin as a Licensed Professional Counselor

Other Requirements

    Previous experience providing treatment in the areas of anxiety, depression, trauma informed care, attention deficit, or substance abuse preferred. Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the District’s standard insurance policy terms.
    Bilingual in Spanish or Hmong preferred.
