The Johns Hopkins Hospital

The Neurosciences Critical Care Unit (NCCU) is a 24 bed critical care unit specifically for Neurosurgical and Neurology patients. You can expect to care for patients undergoing a variety of procedures and surgeries such as: craniotomies, spinal fusions and aneurysm clippings/coilings. Additionally, you would care for a spectrum of patients with neurological disorders, cerebrovascular events and status epilepticus. The staff works with medical therapies in addition to devices and integrated technology to enhance assessment skills which include: EVDs, Artic Sun ®, Pupillometry.

Shifts: 12 Hour Night Shifts

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Active Nursing Assistant Certification in Maryland is required
• 1 year of acute care (hospital) tech experience during the most recent 2 years is required (EMT or CRT experience may be considered)
• BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted

Clinical Technicians at The Johns Hopkins Hospital have the opportunity to provide highly skilled and compassionate patient- and family-centered care as a contributing member of the health care team. Ongoing education is provided to all Clinical Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development
