Job Description:
Professional work experience and portfolio of sample artwork is required. This is an in person position held at Fullerton Community College, or off campus as a dual enrollment course.

DART 100 - Introduction to Digital Art Instructor

This course teaches the fundamentals of digital media to input, create, manipulate and output a variety of images. Students learn basic skills and use a varied selection of visual arts software, while gaining insights into the basic principles of digital computers and digital graphics. Extensive hands-on use of computers and other hardware allows students to build a portfolio and acquire the experience levels necessary to advance in this field.

DART 140 & 146 - Digital Publishing In Design Instructor

The course will cover basics of In Design and digital typesetting preparing files for print, with an emphasis in design, typography, covering commercial methods for printing.

To be determined between on campus classes at Fullerton College classes and off campus Dual Enrollment classes.

Minimum Qualifications:
Any Bachelor’s degree or higher AND two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty’s teaching assignment

OR

Any Associate degree AND six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment

OR

Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area

OR

the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Desirable Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience introducing students to using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and In Design.

Experience successfully working in collaboration with full-time and adjunct faculty in coordinating and maintaining currency of curriculum that responds to the needs of historically underrepresented students.
