This position includes project development and bench research around the overarching topic of "Influences of tissue eosinophils on intestinal and lung immunity". Active ongoing projects in the Spencer laboratory explore functional phenotypes of intestinal tissue eosinophils, bidirectional interfaces between eosinophils and adaptive immunity, and deciphering systemic and local drivers of mucosal organ crosstalk in allergic inflammation. Studies involve parallel and integrative work using primary human cells, patient tissues, and mouse models of disease.
