Position Intro:

The CU College of Nursing is seeking two full-time faculty members in one of the following areas: A clinician scientist in the areas of, Pediatrics, Psychiatric Mental Health Palliative Care, and, Care of Older Adults. Rank and potential award of tenure will depend on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Position Summary:

The University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus College of Nursing is seeking two full-time faculty members (tenure eligible) in one of the following areas: Women's Health/Midwifery, Pediatrics, Psychiatric Mental Health, Palliative Care, Health Care Systems and Informatics (as applicable to the previous areas), and Health Disparities/HIV. Rank and potential award of tenure will depend on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

The candidate's current and future research focus may include genomics, caring science, pediatrics, women's health, biological, clinical, behavioral, social, informatics, and/or economic research. A primary aim of a successful candidate will be fostering a community of belonging, and utilizing a justice lens to effectively engage with all members of the CU Nursing community, specifically faculty, staff, students, and community partners with diverse identities.

Responsibilities of the Position
  • Teach and mentor at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; creating learner centered education that meets a wide range of socio/cultural experiences
  • Maintain an active research agenda;
  • Secure extramural funding;
  • Serve on departmental and university committees;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to collaborative inter-professional research; and
  • Work with stakeholders in the health, environmental, and social sectors.
  • Collaborate with the medical campus colleges/school with appropriate inter-professional research centers.
  • Encourage a culture of belonging, grounding learning in mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning, diversity and ethics, as well as personal and professional development

    Salary and Benefits:

    The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $95,000 - $120,000 annually at Assistant Professor, Tenure Track, $110,000 - $130,000 annually at Associate Professor, Tenured, $130,000 - $160,000 annually at Professor, Tenured.

    The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

    The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

    Qualifications
    Minimum Qualifications:

    Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
      An earned doctorate in an appropriate field of science, nursing, social science, or related area; A record of scholarship and experience to qualify for the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in a tenure eligible position;
    • Minimum qualifications for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor include an extensive and continuing body of research published in peer-reviewed scholarly journals.
    • Minimum qualifications for appointment at the rank of Professor include a proven track record of extramural funding, substantial scholarship in peer reviewed journals, national recognition for program of research, and leadership in professional organizations.
      Evidence of focused area of research; Demonstrated ability to effectively teach and mentor students with cultural responsiveness; and Demonstrated potential for obtaining funding through grants and contracts. Eligible to obtain an unencumbered nursing license in Colorado.

    Preferred Qualifications:
      Master's in Nursing from an accredited institution.
    • Experience working on an academic medical campus.
    • Collaborative research record. Demonstrated lived experience and/or commitment to creating a justice driven culture of belonging evidenced by addressing structural systems of oppression, striving to eliminate society inequity, and/or advancing health equity in teaching, practice, scholarship, and/or research
