Nature of Work:

The Department of Pathology seeks a full time Faculty member (Associate Professor to Professor) whose primary role will be to serve as an expert, academic hematopathologist attending with split duties in anatomical and clinical pathology. This effort will be focused in subspecialty areas of hematopathology, but may include additional responsibilities in surgical pathology. Experience/familiarity with the new WHO classification system, including working knowledge of flow cytometry, cytogenetics and molecular genetics are expected. The candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team, inclusive of senior hematopathologists and molecular pathologists as well as clinicians and surgeons, thus strong communication and professionalism skills are expected. Given the acute nature of the work, night and weekend call in rotation with other attending pathologists will be required. This position is an academic post, hence scholarly activities and teaching are expected and time for these activities will be provided.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at:

Associate Professor: $212,000-290,000.

Professor: $212,000-320,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Associate Professor:
    MD or PhD required. Must be board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, fellowship trained and certified in hematopathology. At least 6 years of experience in academic hematopathology required. Clinical, teaching and scholarship accomplishments sufficient for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor, regular (tenure eligible) track required.

Preferred Qualifications:
    One year post-fellowship practice experience is strongly desired. Candidates who are board-eligible or board-certified in Hematopathology will be considered. Additional experience in molecular pathology (with or without fellowship, but relevant to hematopathology) and/or immunopathology is preferred.

Professor:
    MD or PhD required. Must be board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, fellowship trained and certified in hematopathology. At least 12 years of experience in academic hematopathology required. Clinical, teaching and scholarship accomplishments sufficient for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor, regular (tenure eligible) track required.

Preferred Qualifications:
    One year post-fellowship practice experience is strongly desired. Candidates who are board-eligible or board-certified in Hematopathology will be considered. Additional experience in molecular pathology (with or without fellowship, but relevant to hematopathology) and/or immunopathology is preferred.
