Job Summary Responsible for advanced level research, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of all facets of web-based projects for a campus unit. May serve as project lead on websites impacting multiple units, provide work direction to Web Developers, and conduct end-user training of non-technical staff. Responsibilities Job Duty 1 -

Provide direction and leadership for web related project assignments, including defining standards, developing polices and guidelines, and conducting end-user training.

Job Duty 2 -

Conduct web project design and development consistent with unit needs.

Job Duty 3 -

Conduct usability research and testing for web projects.

Job Duty 4 -

Prepare formal and informal status reports, presentations and project schedules.

Job Duty 5 -

Maintain assigned websites, providing resolution of issues in a timely manner.

Job Duty 6 –

Maintain required documentation related to unit websites.

Job Duty 7 -

Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Experience
Five to seven years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications Additional Preferred Qualifications
Systems and job environment will house specific software applications and operating systems that are associated with additional specific skills that are preferred; Familiarity with best practices and strategies for website planning are also preferred

Preferred Qualifications - software development experience in a backend language, preferably PHP, as well as a related object-oriented framework such as Symfony or Laravel or CodeIgniter.

- solid knowledge of HTML and CSS

- knowledge of Javascript and preferably a related framework such as Angular or Ember or React

- experience with LAMP or some similar stack

- experience with Git or some similar versioning system

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities SKILLS
This job requires advanced knowledge and skills in research, design, development, and deployment of websites for desktop and mobile platforms, in addition to extensive knowledge of modern web standards. Skills in project management, work leadership, presentation, customer service, and problem solving are required, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail.
