Starting salary: $66,717
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. The starting salary range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Job Summary:

Assist with managing post award financial administration of grants, contracts and cooperative agreements. Interact with Supervisor and Project Directors in areas of financial reporting, invoicing, and problem resolution.

This position may be located at the Ankeny Campus, Urban Campus, or the Evelyn K. Davis Center.

Essential Functions:

Reconcile grant accounts and prepare invoices for allowable expenditures in accordance with sponsor guidelines. Complete credit drawdowns and create related journal entries to record revenues and receivables in the College’s financial system (Ellucian Banner). Prepare and approve journal entries for budget adjustments, reclassifications, and cost transfers, as needed.
Analyze costs and prepare interim and closeout financial reports for sponsor and College Project Directors. Monitor spending and resolve cost overruns with Supervisor and/or Project Director. Maintain system user IDs and passwords used to submit reports online. Develop cost share reports to comply with sponsor requirements.
Review, interpret, and apply terms and conditions of awards, as well as provisions of the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200) and other Federal, State, College, and sponsor policies, rules, regulations, and requirements to spending on grant accounts. Evaluate posted expenses for allowability, allocability, reasonableness and consistency of treatment. Identify compliance issues and take necessary action to resolve (cost transfers, written justifications, sponsor approvals). Prepare supporting documentation for audit requests.
Organize and retain sponsor agreements, no-cost extensions, financial claims and reports, sponsor correspondence, cost share, and award closeout documentation for the retention period established in the sponsor’s terms and conditions of the award.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of financial grant management experience.
Ability to plan, organize, mange time, and work independently.
Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with a wide variety of individuals coming from diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of current software applications with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with Ellucian Banner financial software.
Experience with online submission systems.
Knowledge of invoicing and financial reporting.
Experience with Federal or state grant accounting, monitoring/audit site visits, and higher education settings.
Experience and commitment to working with diverse populations.
