Your opportunity:

Under the direction of the MScAC Marketing & Communications Manager, and in close collaboration with the Department of Computer Science (DCS) Senior Communications and External Relations Officer, as well as the communications offices of the partner departments, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the development of MScAC marketing and communications plan by executing on all externally facing programmatic activities. This position will be a key team member to raise the profile of the MScAC brand, strengthen internal and external communications with the program's stakeholders.

Critical to success in this position will be aligning activities with the overall vision for the MScAC marketing and communications strategy, ensuring the needs of multiple stakeholders are met, and establishing a cooperative process for collaboration with MScAC partner departments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing marketing plans to promote programs, events and/or initiatives that support strategic objectives
  • Advising on communication strategies to support goals andpriorities
  • Fostering and maintaining networks to build capacity and collaboration
  • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
  • Conceptualizing, organizing and executing event activities
  • Coordinating networking activities between students and employers and/or alumni
  • Analyzing data to determine trends and recommend target markets
  • Handling expenses for events

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing and Public Relations, English or a related field, or equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience
  • Minimum four years recent and relevant experience in developing and executing communication and marketing plans; conceptualizing and organizing outreach events; and building industry partnership and alumni relations.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing marketing plans for student recruitment (across multiple markets nationally and internationally), alumni relations, sponsorship, fundraising and industry partnerships
  • Demonstrated experience with content creation and publication of web and print communications, newsletters, bulletins, press releases, brochures and event programs, etc.
  • Experience implementing an integrated multi-channel internal and external relations approach
  • Demonstrated experience in managing events through the full cycle, including planning, implementation and close-out
  • Demonstrated experience in building collaborations and partnerships with industry and institutions domestically and internationally
  • Experience gathering information from published sources including experience with online searches
  • Experience analyzing data to determine trends and effectiveness of initiatives
  • Experience with managing and developing websites
  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues and trends in student recruitment, alumni relations and fundraising
  • Advanced skills in Office365 (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Skilled in content management systems (WordPress and Drupal) and newsletter and marketing platforms (e.g., Mailpoet, MailChimp)
  • Skilled in the use of event management platforms (e.g., Eventbrite) and online meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Airmeet)
  • Skilled in the use of Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Dreamweaver)
  • Advanced skills in social media platforms and management tools (e.g. Meta, Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to take initiative
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with people from a diversity of backgrounds
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills
