Reporting to the Director of Emergency Management, the Deputy Director will provide support in managing a comprehensive emergency preparedness program at Temple University. The Deputy Director will primarily be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing outreach, training, and exercise initiatives across the university to foster resilience and promote adaptability.

This position may require availability during non-business hours and on weekends to support emergency response needs.

Required Education and Experience:

*Bachelor’s degree and at least three (3) years of experience in emergency management, community engagement, education, city and regional planning, public policy, public health or a related field. 

Preferred:

*Master’s degree

Required skills and abilities:

*Must possess a valid driver's license

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

*Skilled in critical thinking and problem-solving.

*Ability to handle sensitive matters in a confidential and professional manner.

*Demonstrated ability to conduct emergency preparedness trainings and exercises.

*Demonstrated ability to coordinate emergency planning initiatives with a diversity of stakeholders in education, government, and the broader community.

*Experience in program development and evaluation.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
