The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement seeks a Precollege Outreach & Engagement Program Lecturer! This is a short-term, contract, lecturer appointment, which will provide instruction for credit bearing courses for the following programs:

Precollege Bridge Program: June 5, 2023-June 30, 2023

Writing 1150 (2 sections)

Lead 1000 (1 section)

Precollegiate Development Program: June 12 - July 14, 2023

Writing: ARSC 1000 Expository Writing (one section)

1871 Fundamentals of Journalism (one section)

Partnership Outreach Programs: June 19-30, 2023

Introduction to Ethnic Studies (1 Section)

Who We Are

The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement, which is part of the Office for Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement, partners with communities across Colorado and beyond to provide first-generation and low-income students and their families with comprehensive college preparation and social development programs.
These programs help support students academically and personally while in middle and high school and prepare them to transition successfully to postsecondary opportunities.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

As a Lecturer you will be expected to:
  • Instruct a college level curriculum
  • Plan, create a course syllabus
  • Maintain and track student grades and provide final grades for each student
  • Must attend required training and weekly staff meetings
  • Maintain active communication with Director of the program
  • Follow all procedures and processes required by the Office of Continuing Education


What You Should Know

All University of Colorado Boulder employees are required to follow the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement. New employees must provide proof of vaccination or receive a medical or religious exemption within 30 days of employment.
Participants of our programs are primarily fist-generation students, with other marginalized identities (such as low-income, LGBTQ+, immigrant status, ethnically diverse, etc.), thus we require the instructor to have experience supporting and teaching our diverse student population.
  • This position does require you to teach in-person, and as an employee of the university you will be required to abide by university vaccination policies.
  • This is a temporary appointment with the university as a lecturer and does not qualify for university benefits.
  • We strongly encourage the instructor to use a web based platform for course deliverables and materials (if applicable).
  • The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement can provide at no cost to the instructor course materials and printing if requests are made two weeks in advance.



What We Can Offer

$6,545 - $6,742, per credit bearing course (3 credits).
