Job Overview
The Georgetown Center for the Constitution seeks an Assistant Program Manager (“APM”) to assist and gain experience from the Program Manager (“PM”).
Working in close coordination with the Center's PM, the APM will design and manage Center initiatives, programs, and events and achieve programmatic success while working with multiple stakeholders. The APM will learn and master the necessary job functions by assisting with each part of the PM role.
Some of the APM's tasks will include learning to: execute the daily administration of the Center, manage the Center's website and social media presence, successfully hire and manage personnel, process applications, administer conferences (Originalism Summer Seminar, Originalism for Judges Seminar, Thomas M. Cooley Gala, and the Salmon P. Chase conference), manage the Center's Programs (Visiting Scholars, Bradley Scholars, and Student Fellows), prepare the Center's budget and conduct donor relations, draft and edit annual reports, edit and publish books as part of the Constitutional Discourse Series, and participate in strategic planning meetings with the Faculty Director, Executive Director, and PM.
Work Interactions
The APM will work closely with the PM on all projects on a daily basis and be responsible for assisting in daily financial and administrative management as well as special projects for the Georgetown Center for the Constitution and Center faculty leadership. The APM will also work closely with the Center's Executive Director to develop and execute programs and the Center's initiatives.
Qualifications
- High School diploma - preference for a Bachelor's degree
- 2 to 4 years of administrative and project management experience [note: consideration will be given to equivalent combination of education and work experience]
- Admission into the Georgetown Law JD Part-Time program
- Editing and proofreading skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to effectively serve diverse personalities, maintain poise and professional demeanor, deploy diplomacy and tact, ability to apply sound judgment and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive information in what can be a high-pressured environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- A willingness and ability to learn university software and hardware
