Job Overview

The Assistant Director of Facilities Management assists with the management of daily campus wide building and grounds operations - including planning, scheduling, oversight of the work requests, building repairs, preventive maintenance, inventory control and supervision of facilities staff members both union and nonunion.

They oversee and implement predictive and preventive maintenance programs for the campus plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and HVACR systems; administer the assessment and training of staff; and assist with development of documented Standard Operating Procedures for all entities within the Facilities Management department - including maintenance, parking, custodial, and ground operations.

Work Interactions

Under general supervision, the Assistant Director of Facilities Management reports directly to the Director of Facilities Management; and through staff management, they provide building support services to provide a safe, clean and comfortable environment for the Law Center community.

They communicate and interact with multiple departments, staff, clients, and guests; perform in a professional manner, comply with policies and practices, and are flexible with respect to scheduling and work as part of a team.

As well, they are a department leader regarding oversight and development of management and union staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree Engineering, Facilities Management or equivalent level of knowledge obtained through 10 years of facilities management experience

Physical environment: Occasionally required to move up to 10lbs of weight
