INTRODUCTION

The Chemistry Department within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Connecticut, Hartford, invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor in Residence rank.

The successful candidate will assist with teaching introductory chemistry laboratory and lecture courses. This position requires an individual with a dynamic personality who can interact with undergraduate students and work collaboratively with faculty across the regional and main campuses at UConn, and who has a track record of excellence in teaching and working with a diverse student population.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated excellence and experience in teaching both lecture and laboratory courses.
  • Commitment to working with a diverse student body.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Knowledge of current safety practices, waste and hazard management, and experience with environmental health and safety practices. Experience teaching non-science major chemistry lecture courses.
APPOINTMENT TERMS

This position is a full-time, nine (9)-month appointment, with a start date of August 23, 2023. The position may be annually renewable based on performance, budget, and needs of the Department and College. Salary is competitive based on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate’s primary academic appointment will be at the Hartford Campus.
