Job Details

Media, Journalism, & Film: Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor of Journalism to teach Introductory News Writing, Introductory News Reporting, and other journalism courses as needed. Appointment begins August 21, 2023.

The Department of Media, Journalism, and Film prepares students to live and work in a complex media environment, offering majors in Film Studies, Journalism, Media & Communication, and Strategic Communication. The department is committed to diversity and inclusive excellence.

Required: Ph.D. in Journalism, Communication, or a closely related field by date of appointment for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor; master’s degree (or ABD) in Journalism, Communication, or a closely related field by date of appointment for appointment as Instructor.

Consideration may be given to candidates who have professional experience working in a multimedia newsroom as well as experience teaching journalism.
