Job SummaryGeorgia Gwinnett College is now accepting applications for part-time faculty positions in Biology in the School of Science & Technology for the academic year 2023-2024.
Part-Time faculty positions are semester-based positions and report directly to the Department Chair. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, online, hybrid and/or blended formats. These positions are on an as-needed basis. Positions require additional time outside of class to provide written feedback to students and to meet individually with students throughout the semester. Part-Time faculty may teach in the fall, spring, and/or
summer semesters.
Working Arrangement: Flexible with in-office days, Faculty will be expected to attend new hire orientation and department meetings in person.
Classes at Georgia Gwinnett College are offered morning, afternoon and evening including weekends.
Review of applications will begin April 1, 2023, and continue until the position is filled.
- Developing course curricula, including the syllabus, lesson plans, and graded assignments, in accordance with the requirements of the upper division program and in consultation with the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs.
- Reviewing, evaluating and recommending student learning materials.
- Evaluating students to measure their progress in achieving institutional and course goals.
- Timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline.
- Terminal degree in the teaching discipline
- 1-year college-level teaching
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse population of students.
- Sustained professional engagement that demonstrates relevance and currency in the field of teaching.
Strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement, and service to the college and community. GGC is an institution that values innovative teaching, advising, and mentoring (advising and mentoring are expected of all faculty).
