Description:

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine, along with the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at Women’s College Hospital (WCH), is currently recruiting a full-time physician with a demonstrated excellence and subspecialty training in family planning and adolescent gynaecologic care. The successful candidate will join the combined department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Women’s College, Sinai Health and University Health Network hospitals. The successful candidate will hold an academic position description of Clinician Teacher and must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor at the University of Toronto. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2023, or another mutually agreeable date.

The successful candidate will be involved in the care of people in the Family Planning Clinic at WCH, including termination of pregnancy care in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. The physician will contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of an internationally recognized tertiary care program for patients with complex medical and contraceptive needs. The candidate will provide innovative program development and participate in related research activity. The physician will develop educational tools for medical students, teach residents in the Ob/Gyn and Family Practice programs. The physician will participate in the hospital Gynaecology call roster and will have the opportunity to see patients in the Women’s College Hospital ambulatory Gynaecology clinics. Engagement in labour and delivery care at Sinai Health Systems will be allocated as it pertains to the late termination of pregnancy care program.

Candidates must either be licensed or be eligible for an independent academic licence under the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Qualified applicants must either be board-certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), in addition to the MD degree.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will promote and demonstrate excellence in professional practice and conduct.
