Maintenace Generalist II

Job Description:

Maintenance of Building 7343, associated greenhouses and screenhouses and their irrigation systems, equipment, machines, and tools, including painting and plumbing. Incumbent will maintain multiple HEPA air filtration HVAC systems, wastewater sterilization system, large RO water generator, interlocking magnetic locks on all doors, climate-controlled rooms housing insect colonies, backup generator, pass-through autoclave for solid waste removal, and accurate records of all work performed. 50%

Assistance in development of infrastructural and equipment facilities for research projects by BCRCL scientists and students. 10%

Maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance of HVAC and electrical equipment for all center buildings, especially when the IRREC Maintenance Generalist III is unavailable and when hurricane emergencies exist. Maintain accurate records of all work performed. 10%

Prepare purchase requests for material and tools required for building and equipment maintenance. 10%

Perform other duties deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor and IRREC Center Director. 10%

Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Performs duties with minimal risk to safety. 5%

Install new laboratory equipment in Building 7343 and perform minor repair. 5%

Expected Salary:

$20.13/hr. compenstate with experince and education.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

HVAC and refrigeration experience.
