  • Responsibilities

    The Digital Marketing Specialist's responsibilities include:

    • Develops, implements, and measures the museum’s digital marketing plan to increase visitation to museum exhibitions and performances, engage visitors with opportunities to participate in museum educational programming and community-related initiatives. Engage and develop target audiences that align with The Ringling’s strategic plan to increase the museum’s visitor profile and expand its reach in underrepresented communities. Leads and takes ownership of the museum’s digital creative process while working collaboratively with other marketing department team members, internal and external stakeholders, media agencies, and other resources in the development and execution of digital content and strategy, including website content, marketing emails, advertising, video, photography and other digital media assets.
    • Responsible for the Museum’s overall social media presence; represents the museum across organizational social media accounts by creating, scheduling, and monitoring posts and updates, and engaging with or responding to the museum’s many audiences.
    • Works closely with the Head of Marketing & Communications, marketing manager and cross-functionally with other museum departments and stakeholders to make recommendations for improving and enhancing visitor engagement levels. Cultivates and enhances relationships and opportunities with external partners to increase brand awareness and support the Museum’s strategic plan. May travel locally as needed to participate in events as a representative of the museum.
    • Manages the development and reporting of digital metrics, data and insights; sets standards, monitors and tracks social media and other digital marketing analytics utilizing dashboards to measure growth, engagement levels, and maximize ROI. Communicates weekly with marketing team and other museum stakeholders to present plans and evaluate results of digital marketing campaigns as well as general activity; offers actionable insights and suggestions based on campaign performance.
    • Ensures best practices are followed in all areas of digital marketing; employs cutting edge tactics to increase brand awareness and engagement among desired audiences. Manages web-based tools (e.g. Content Management System, Digital Asset Management System, web applications, etc.) to support digital marketing efforts.
    • Ensures all digital work is consistent with established brand guidelines, applicable policies and compliance standards. Performs periodic maintenance, review and updating of all digital assets. Other responsibilities as assigned.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Online Marketing, or other relevant degree and two years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.
      • Note: higher education can substitute for experience at an equivalent rate.
    • Knowledge of:
      • Current media technology and trends including but not limited to major and emerging social media platforms and trends, social scheduling tools, Google tools, and email marketing tools.
      • Applicable computer applications and basic computer functions such as Microsoft 365 Suite, Sprout Social, Mailchimp, or other email platforms.
    • Ability to:
      • Demonstrate critical thinking based upon in-depth data, substantiating information, considering and respecting others' input personal values, and ethics.
      • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
      • Learn and adapt to new technologies.
    Preferred

    Anticipated Salary Range

    The anticipated rate of pay will range from the high 30's to high 40's annually based on the education, skills, and experience of the selected candidate. Please note that majority of applicants will be offered at midpoint of range.

    Soft Money Funded Position

    This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.

    Schedule

    Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one hour meal period. Please note that evenings, weekends, special events, or holidays may be required based on the needs of The Ringling.

    Criminal Background Check

    This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
