About the Position:

This role is an on-campus, in-person position.

The role supports the football program by coordinating & implementing recruiting efforts & assisting in overall football operations. Develops & implements recruitment strategy for SMU Football by identifying current recruiting methods & philosophies. Implements prospect/coach correspondence, schedule & handle day-to-day duties by evaluating calendar events, NCAA recruitment timetable & current goals.

The person in this position oversees the operations of visitors to campus for football affiliated events (through official visits, junior day, and game day).

Essential Functions:

    Oversee and coordinate on-campus recruiting operations (unofficial & official visits, junior day & gameday recruiting events).

    Manage and implement the program's communication plan & recruiting marketing strategy

    Oversee the academic screening and admissions processes for targeted prospects.

    Assist with recruiting travel operations and expense reports related to recruiting.

    Assist with all other operations related to recruiting.

    Position requires regular evening and weekend work for recruiting visits, games and practice.

    Position requires frequent travel for recruiting efforts and games.



Qualifications
Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree is required.

A minimum of three years of proven of work experience in college athletics is required. Division 1 experience is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with athletes, recruits, coaching staff and administration. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills. The ability to be creative in presenting SMU as an institution, football program and the city of Dallas is essential.

Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects 

Knowledge of collegiate recruiting and NCAA rules is required. Demonstrated ability to achieve effective recruiting results is essential.
