Georgia State University is looking for a Customer Service Specialist I (Temp) to join our team.Position Summary:The Customer Service Specialist I (Temp) serves as a primary contact person in the Facilities Customer Service Center and provides support to all University departments by utilizing the Archibus system to enter service requests and create work orders for various jobs to be completed by Facilities staff.Job Description:
- Answers service calls and directs calls/ inquiries to the appropriate Facilities department. Service calls may involve (but are not limited to) heating and air, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, elevator service, pest control, custodial services, event set up, or grounds maintenance. Will also monitor the Facilities Management Services email inbox and distribute work to be performed to the correct department.
- Coordinates with Maintenance, Custodial Services, Police, Emergency Management, and Safety Department for non-routine emergency calls, such as flooding, chemical spills, and storm damages.
- Enters service calls in Archibus system which generates work order numbers. Notifies customers of the work order numbers as requested.
- Provides courteous response to inquiries and complaints from students, faculty, and staff. Describe service procedures to customers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and one year of customer service, administrative or office experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Students have many choices in extracurricular activities including more than 22 fraternities and sororities; and some 250 chartered student groups, including 60 degree-related student groups, seven religious, 24 law-oriented and 22 multicultural/international groups; and 10 honor societies. There is also an active student government association which includes the student senate and the judicial board.
The Georgia State Panthers are members of the Colonial Athletic Association and compete in 16 NCAA Division I intercollegiate men’s and women’s sports, including basketball, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, track and volleyball. The university announced in April 2008 that is will begin Division I-AA football in 2010.
The university’s innovative Touch the Earth program brings outdoor recreation ranging from backpacking, rock climbing, sailing, kayaking, rafting and water-skiing to out-of-state snow-skiing and snorkeling trips. And WRAS, Georgia State’s popular 100,000-watt radio voice, is the most powerful student-run radio station in the United States.
