Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in the Chemistry Department beginning August 15, 2023. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio, located in Blue Ash, Ohio, with an enrollment of approximately 4,109 students. We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs, as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees. The college is a recipient of the Cincinnati Business Courier 2021 Best Places to Work award.

This Visiting Assistant Professor position is for the 2023-2024 academic year only and is not eligible for the tenure track; however, this position could be extended into a second and final year if there is a department need and available budget.

Essential Functions
  • Teaching a full-time teaching load (including both lecture and/or laboratory classes) in the Fall and Spring semesters.
  • Teaching responsibilities include introductory chemistry classes for majors, non-majors, and pre-health professional students.
  • Proficient in helping students learn chemical concepts for introductory courses with a particular emphasis on general chemistry.
Minimum Requirements

Prior to the effective date of the appointment:

  • A Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field and one academic year of college-level teaching experience in chemistry or related field.
