Description

Responsibilities will include teaching sections of Freshmen Introduction to Reasoning Essentials (FIRE 1000) in support of Gordon State College’s core curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Degree with two years’ experience in college-level teaching or equivalent experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in college-level teaching with an emphasis on student success.

The Division

The Department of Student Success is interdisciplinary in nature, focusing on creating agency for personal learning, discovering and reflecting on personal strengths, and solving problems in an academic focus area.

The College

Gordon State College has served the community and region continuously since its founding in 1852, and has been a unit in the University System of Georgia since 1972. After more than three decades of serving the state as a residential two-year college, Gordon was named a state college in 2006 and asked to develop selected four year programs to address critical state needs. In May, 2009 the College graduated its first baccalaureate class of 27 early childhood education majors; the college launched its baccalaureate English program in 2011. GSC now offers twelve distinct baccalaureate programs.

The main campus of Gordon State College is in Barnesville, Georgia, a lovely town located an hour south of Atlanta, Georgia. Students and faculty enjoy the pleasures of small town living together with access to the many attractions of a major metropolitan center and an international airport.
