Position Summary

The University of Denver is looking for a Multimedia Associate Producer to work with the Marketing and Communications team. The candidate will work closely with the marketing and creative teams to help concept, organize and execute photo and video shoots for the department through all phases of production. The ideal candidate will be able to anticipate the needs of projects while remaining focused through tight timelines as well as flexibility and the ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities. Strong project management skills are a must.

Essential Functions

  • Plan and finalize video and photo assignments and manage project details.
  • Create briefs and pitches identifying strategic objectives and brand pillars, production schedules and efficient timelines and budget for each project to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Lead and schedule project kickoff meetings with campus partners, stakeholders and internal team.
  • Concept and create storyboards and choose the most suitable forms of media for final deliverables.
  • Secure permits and necessary permissions for photo and video shoots on and off campus.
  • Directly source and secure props, wardrobe, equipment and other production elements as needed.
  • Send out confirmation emails with relevant details to secured talent for video and photo shoots
  • Send calendar invites for video and photo shoots to participants with relevant details and secure photo/video permission in advance of shoots.
  • At times, conducting interviews for video projects as well as researching and writing interview questions.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Connecting with freelancers as needed for additional projects where internal team members arent available.
  • Connect with campus partners and internal team members with updates and timelines.
  • Supporting video trainings and adherence to established videography brand standards throughout projects.
  • Support and provide indirect oversight to student employees/production assistants as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to storyboard and prepare scripts during pre-production as needed
  • Ability to adapt to new platforms when necessary
  • Works independently and as part of a team. Manages multiple projects, timelines and production schedules simultaneously to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Highly organized, attentive to detail, able to get ahead of production problems and keep multiple projects on track and on budget

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in multimedia production, communications, marketing or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • 2 years of video and photo production experience, demonstrated by resume and portfolio of supported productions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of personalities and levels of stakeholders ranging from peers and talent to senior leaders and external clients to achieve objectives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management certification
  • Demonstrable understanding of the higher education market and its key audiences
  • Bilingual capabilities
  • Experience using Wrike project management system

Working Environment

  • The successful incumbent must live or be willing to relocate to the Denver metro. The Division of Marketing & Communications has a flexible work arrangement with its employees, allowing for both community and culture building in office and remote work from home.
  • Ability to sit in front of a computer or stand for an extended period of time.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing required to perform essential functions.
  • Receives regular managerial review of objectives.
  • Collaborates with contracted paid media vendors as well as in-house team and University colleagues for completion of project/program related tasks as needed.
  • Some travel as well as occasional weekend or after-hours work will be required to fulfill duties.
  • Exposure to all weather conditions (within reason) may occur during creation of strategic content.
  • Occasional travel using a personal vehicle, including loading, transport and unloading of equipment may be required.

Physical Activities

  • Must be able to move about the office/campus with the capability of lifting and transporting equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Vision and hearing abilities necessary, given audio/visual responsibilities required of the position

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Hourly Range:
The hourly range for the position is $30.00 ‐ $32.65

The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
