Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Provides instructional leadership in collaboration with the Chancellor, faculty, administrators, and staff.

• Represents the College and the Chancellor in the community.

• Oversees a comprehensive institutional effectiveness program.

• Oversee library and other academic support services.

• Works collaboratively with deans and faculty to identify innovative and emerging opportunities relative to new programs and trainings, innovative teaching strategies, technology-driven curriculum, distance learning, professional development, and continuous improvement of existing programs and services to increase student opportunities, and success.

• Provides leadership and guidance for the development and implementation of high-quality and student-centered approaches to support student success in academic dimensions of student experiences.

• Works closely with businesses and employers to ensure that all programs and trainings meet the current and future workforce needs of the community.

• Manages data collection and analysis for effective planning of instructional programs and facilities.

• Leads the integration of credit and non-credit courses into a seamless coordinated effort to serve students.

• Responsible for collaborating with institutions of higher education and K-12 to enhance services for students.

• Maintains professional visibility on campus, in the community, and in state and national organizations.

• Encourages and initiates resource development in support of institutional goals and college-wide initiatives in collaboration with deans and faculty.

• Ensures that the evaluation of instructional faculty, administrators, and staff are conducted on a regular and systematic basis in accordance with College policies and procedures.

• Provides leadership relative to recruitment, selection and credentialing procedures and recommendations of new faculty, the continuing contract process, faculty development and evaluation.

• Prepares annual reports and updates.

• Makes recommendations to the Chancellor for the total instructional budget, including program sustainability, after consultation with division deans.

• Responsible for preparation and distribution of the college catalog, faculty manual, schedule of courses, curriculum modifications, and other related documents.

• Responsible for implementing state and federal requirements related to instruction.

• Responsible for managing, maintaining and ensuring alignment with accreditation policies, practices and procedures, including oversight of the reaffirmation and substantive change and all other accreditation activities of the College.

• Represents the college and provides leadership at System meetings regarding academic, workforce and student affairs.

• Fosters instructional and institutional effectiveness, facilitating opportunities to understand, analyze, and utilize pertinent data for strategic decision making.

• Other duties as assigned.


Required Education: Master’s degree in a related area.


Required KSAs: Progressively responsible administrative experience in a post-secondary educational setting. The successful applicant for this position must demonstrate an ability to effectively integrate the academic and workforce activities of the college. Demonstrated commitment to innovation, participatory governance, consensus building, and team approach to management. Effective communication skills that foster a collegial, collaborative working environment.


Preferred Education: Doctorate.


Preferred Experience: Full-time teaching experience at the college level. Prior experience with integrated databases; particularly Banner. Experience with and knowledge of SACSCOC.


Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
