Assistant Director of Athletics

Job Description:

As part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian is seeking a Assistant Director of Athletics. Working closely with the Director of Athletics, the Assistant Athletic Director promotes Marian University’s Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by assisting with the overall administration of the athletic department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively engages the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan Intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
  • Proven leadership ability in a successful and competitive athletic department.
  • Complete mandatory NAIA and Crossroads League reports such as EADA, NAIA ROA, NAIA Scorecard, Declaration of Intent, and Financial Summary Reports.
  • Have a working knowledge of NAIA and conference rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for ticketing at all home athletic contests where admission is charge. Maintain the ticketing website for all home athletic events.
  • Hire, train, and supervise student/adult workers for home athletic contests.
  • Hire, train and manage student worker schedule for the P.E. Center Building Supervisor position.
  • Assist with the submission of all NAIA postseason bids and serve as Tournament Director for select Crossroads League and NAIA Championships.
  • Work with Human Resources in the logistics of hiring, training and terminating of coaches and athletics staff.
  • Work with campus operations with facility maintenance and work orders for athletic facilities.
  • Assist with athletic facility scheduling for internal and external groups.
  • Manage the NAIA Help website for administrative content.
  • Manage student-athlete releases.
  • Manage team rosters in Colleague.
  • Assist coaches with athletic scholarship offers and removals from team,
  • Spearhead the annual athletic awards that are given out at the end of the year.
  • Assist Athletic Director with administrative duties as needed.
  • Participate in long-range planning and assessment, attend all department training sessions and meetings, read and comply with all departmental policy manuals.
  • Serve on various committees within the university.
  • Assist with game management when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Required Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Marian University.

  • Minimum of three years in athletic administration or coaching.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues throughout the university and the public.
