Postdoctoral Fellowship: Pharmacoepidemiology & Health Outcomes Research
 

Location: University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, Baltimore, MD
 

An exciting postdoctoral fellowship opportunity is available at the University of Maryland Baltimore (UMB) within the School of Pharmacy’s Department of Practice, Science and Health Outcomes Research (P-SHOR). Fellowships within P-SHOR provide multidisciplinary, advanced training to health services researchers and prepare fellows for positions in academia, government, the pharmaceutical industries, and consulting. Training includes, but is not limited to, mentored research, grant writing, and teaching experiences.
 

The postdoctoral fellow will engage in quantitative analytic research funded by federal agencies, the state of Maryland, and corporate agencies. Fellows will work closely with academic and state stakeholder partners to address a range of research questions on medication safety, health disparities, and social determinants of health. The fellow will apply advanced methodological and statistical methods as well as longitudinal and multi-level analyses. Duties include but are not limited to developing protocols, overseeing research data collection, preparing reports and presentations, and webinars. Fellows receive a competitive salary and benefits.



Qualifications
Qualifications:

PhD is required and training in a health-related discipline (e.g., epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, health services research is preferred). A competitive candidate will have strong quantitative analytical skills, experience analyzing large administrative databases, and intermediate/advanced skills in programming language, such as SAS and R. Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills are a must.
