Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Dean, the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer (CCMO) will:

lead the Law School’s strategic communications and marketing efforts related to enrollment growth and faculty, staff and student activities
collaborate with and provide strategic advice to the Law School’s Office of Advancement on engagement opportunities
manage internal communications processes, the Law School’s brand, crisis communications, and web/digital communications and platforms (including the website)
develop and manage executive communications, including speeches, remarks, media statements, and community messages on behalf of the Dean
supervise a staff that currently includes a Director of Communications and an Assistant Director of Communications but that may expand as the needs of the office grow.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, or related field or equivalent;
Significant progressive experience in communications and marketing (typically seven or more years);
Demonstrated creativity, invention, imagination, originality and talent in branding, digital marketing, message development, and strategic marketing;
Demonstrated strategic planning skills, with the ability to envision, develop, and implement communication and marketing programs following market research and best practices;
Knowledge of appropriate writing styles for various settings and awareness of best practices in higher education communications;
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive communications with discretion; and
Strong project management skills with the ability to identify short- and long-range goals and to facilitate moving projects toward completion.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in communications, marketing or related field;
Experience overseeing a university or school’s communications strategy;
Experience conceptualizing and executing visual designs using effective and sophisticated design software;
Supervisory or leadership experience
Conditions of Employment

This position may require additional hours beyond the typical work week to include evening and weekends as needed.
