The primary responsibilities of the Bonner Scholars Coordinator are to manage and implement the Bonner Scholars Program, particularly in the areas of service and leadership development, as well as coordinating every aspect of the Bonner Scholars Program. The Bonner Scholars Coordinator is the first point of contact for students that have been identified as Bonner Scholars.

• Manages budget for the operation of the Bonner Scholars Program which also includes two (2) Bonner-related budgets (Bonner Community Fund and Keshia Knight-Pulliam Fund)
• Manages budget for the operation of the UPS Scholars Program which will include disbursement of semester stipends
• Manages programs for up to eighty (80) Bonner Scholars, designs student curriculum programming based on Bonner Foundation Student Development Model; 1st point of contact and direct communication to Bonner Foundation to address questions and/or implementation of the Bonner Program requirements
• Manages the United Parcel Service (UPS) Scholars; designs student curriculum programming based on the requirements set forth by the UPS Foundation. 1st point of contact and direct communication to the UPS Foundation to address questions and/or implementation of the UPS Scholars Program requirements. In addition, ensuring that students are complying with their service requirements
• In collaboration with the Director of the Bonner Office of Civic Engagement, this position is responsible for the coordination of SERVE Living and Learning Community for first-year Bonner Scholar student development, which includes program orientation, workshops, collaborating with housing department officials, faculty, and staff
• Designs curriculum and student development modules as prescribed by the Bonner Foundation and the UPS Foundation
• Implements and strengthens existing processes for recruitment, selection, placement, and retention of students in the program. Serves as a liaison with the Offices of Admission, Office of Student Financial Services, and Office of Academic Affairs throughout the year to ensure a coordinated effort in fulfilling Bonner recipient requirements
• Makes site visits and completes evaluations for service providers. Participates in annual Bonner Coordinators, and Directors meetings as well as other required meetings as required and determined by the Bonner and UPS Foundation
• Maintains accurate records of Bonner and UPS Scholar service opportunities and end-of-year service accomplishments through the Bonner Web-Based Reporting System.
• Submits required reports to the foundation Bonner and UPS Foundations as required
• Represents the department in campus and community meetings
• Implements written guidelines for the program
• Identifies, coordinates, and monitors all service placement sites for Bonner and UPS Scholars during the school year and the summer
• Establishes and maintains relationships with community partners associated with the Bonner and UPS Scholars
• Coordinates group service projects and activities for all Bonner and UPS Scholars, Shepherd Poverty
• Regularly contact Bonner students to offer the support and encouragement necessary to ensure their success in the program
• Plans and coordinates first-year service trip for Bonner Scholars
• Plans and coordinates sophomore exchange for Bonner Scholars
• Provides supervision of class representatives and senior interns

A Bachelor’s degree with three years of experience working with students in higher education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master’s degree is a plus.
Incumbent must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Duties require the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and the general public is essential.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) to prepare correspondence, memos, and e-mails plus things such as mail merges, flyers, spreadsheets containing formulas, and creating forms.

Master’s degree is a plus.
