Illinois Residency Requirement: This position requires Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date.

SIUE's Online Services and Educational Outreach (OSEO) office is accepting applications for the position of Program Advisor, Online Student Success to support our online degree program and online general education path students. The successful candidate will:

-Design, manage, and implement retention and communication plans and other methods of engagement to build connections, retain students, and create a sense of community within our population

-Provide intrusive and highly intentional course planning and registration support for online degree students

-Work with program administrators, chairs, and faculty to ensure course availability and other registration deliverables

-Forecast student needs and offer flexible and thorough planning and registration support that builds trust with current and potential students

-Help students identify and work toward educational and career goals

-Collaborate with campus partners to develop and implement an online student EDI program for online student orientation and provide equity minded EDI support and -programming to the online degree population

-Create and deliver resources to meet the needs of online degree students and encourage continued persistence and retention

-Support anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives outlined in the OSEO strategic plan

-Serve as mentor and guide for students requiring additional support to progress. Encourage self-motivation, self-management and responsibility and provide a high level of intentional and timely outreach to support online student populations including, but not limited to: admitted but unenrolled, at-risk, academic warning and/or probation status, students needing financial support, international students, readmitted students, and reinstated students.

-Provide general financial aid information and updates to new students

This position is a current civil service vacancy at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and will be closed to applicants at 11:59 pm CST, on the posting end date. Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

1. Master's Degree in Student Affairs, Business, Psychology, Counseling, Communication, Sociology or closely related field
2. Three or more years of experience providing support resources that encourage student or client engagement, retention, and persistence
3. Ability to demonstrate excellent, written, interpersonal or oral communication skills and excellent rapport with diverse populations

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

Strong organization, tracking, data collection, time management and follow up skills

Ability to build relationships, work independently and provide good judgment

Ability to take initiative, pay careful attention to details and maintain confidentiality
