Radiation Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a registered Radiation Therapist or certified Medical Physicist. Radiation therapy assistant may support the radiation therapist by escorting patients, assisting with moving or transferring patients, ensuring availability of radiation therapy devices, cleaning equipment, and assisting with general tasks to support patient care. A Radiation Therapy assistant may also work under the direction of a medical physicist and support quality assurance activities in the department. The radiation therapy assistant must adhere to Johns Hopkins Hospital policies, procedures, regulatory standards set forth by JCAHO, and HIPAA as well as the policies and procedures stated in the Radiation Therapist policy and procedure manual.

A. Education:

Associate or Bachelor's degree. Enrollment in radiation therapy program OR bachelor's degree in science field preferred.
