Adjunct Instructor for Mathematics
Type of Position:Faculty
Responsibilities:Adjunct position to provide quality and innovative instruction in Mathematics; including evening, off-campus, and online courses. The successful candidate will effectively deliver instruction in multiple modalities; teach traditional, non-traditional, and dual credit students; proficiently manage student information system and learning management system technologies; effectively mentor students, including assisting with advising and registration; supply professional leadership in curriculum development; continue professional development; serve on departmental and college committees; participate in college and course level assessments; and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Master’s degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Mathematics is required; Ph.D. in Mathematics strongly preferred. Community College and online teaching experience preferred. Teaching credentials and experience in a second academic discipline a plus. Candidate must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of students from diverse backgrounds. Candidate must comply with established Lamar State College-Orange standards and policies.

Lamar State College Orange currently has a student body of approximately 2,648. Two-year academic programs are offered in business, communication, computer science, criminal justice, education, liberal arts, theater, natural science and sociology. These academic programs lead to associate of science degrees and will transfer to four-year institutions for students seeking baccalaureate degrees. Thirty technical programs are available, leading to associate of applied science degrees, certificates of completion and institutional awards. Some of these degrees include process operating and industrial technology, instrumentation, and medical office. Customized training programs to meet the needs of local business and industry and offered through the Continuing and Workforce Education Department.
