Overview

The faculty will be responsible for educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time and substitute basis in Mechatronics and Electrical courses.

Qualifications

Education:

-Associate’s Degree in Mechatronics Technology, Electromechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, or related discipline. (Minimum)-Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline. (Desired)-Formal coursework in Education. (Desired)

 

Experience:

-Two (2) years of related work experience. (Minimum)-Teaching experience at the high school, trade, or college level. (Desired)

 

Abilities and Skills:

-Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. (Minimum)-Developed organizational skills. (Minimum)-Possession of a valid driver’s license. (Desired)

 

 

Responsibilities

-Instruct and evaluate student performance in Mechatronics and Electrical courses. (Essential)-Maintain accurate written records of student performances and attendance and submit to the School office at the end of each semester. (Essential)-Assume responsibility for laboratory coordination and maintenance. (Essential)-Comply with College safety, hazardous waste disposal, and recycling policies. (Essential)-Supervise students in laboratory clean-up activities. (Essential)-Maintain office hours according to part-time agreement. (Essential)-Attend School and department meetings as requested. (Marginal)-participate in School assessment process. (Essential)-Maintain communication with School administrators as appropriate. (Essential)-Requisition supplies, materials, tools, equipment, and maintenance as appropriate. (Essential)

Physical Standards and Special Job Features

Physical Standards:

-Some lifting not to exceed 50 lbs. may be required.-Some climbing or working off of a ladder may be required.

 

Special Job Features:

-Finalists must present a sample lesson.-Candidates for teaching positions must be fluent in the English language (oral and written) – English Fluency in Higher Education Act. (Pennsylvania Senate Bill 539/Act No. 76.).-May include some travel to off-campus instructional project sites.-Background check will be required on selected candidate.

Pay TransparencyThe part-time rate for 2022/23 will be the greater of $1140 per credit or $760 per contact hour, prorated for student enrollment under seven. The approved substitute pay rate is $47.50 per hour during the first week of substituting and the prorated part-time teacher rate for consecutive substitute assignments that exceed one week.College Statement
