This position connects with all facets of our institution, working with staff, faculty, students, alumni, parents, cooperative partners including employers and corporations, and community members.
The Director is responsible for organizing and implementing diversity programming; in collaboration with the Diversity Council and campus leadership, the Director will establish educational goals and programming that will develop and sustain an environment of inclusion and support for students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds; through programming and training, the Director will promote cultural change in the area of diversity at Rose-Hulman and will serve as a primary resource towards achieving the Institute’s goals for inclusion and respect for all individuals regardless of background. The Director will be a highly effective communicator, able to cross cultural lines easily and work effectively with all constituencies. The individual will lead the effort to shape, define and embrace the Institute’s vision of diversity, and provide active support for achieving that vision. We are in the first year of a 15-year strategic plan, and DEI opportunities and initiatives are one of four pillars of focus. This position will play a key role in the development and trajectory of the Institute in the next 10 years.
